- 1 year ago -For us it was an unforgettable experience. My motherDaughter, my Husband and i climbed up this Holy Mountain last years . Mount Sinai or Mount Moses is located on the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt is the traditional site where Moses received the Ten Commandments from God. It is 2285 metres high. It takes about 3 hours to climb the 7,498-foot peak following the Path of Moses, a stairway of nearly 4,000 steps. There is a longer, less strenuous route up the opposite side, though it is less scenic. In both cases, you should bring good hiking shoes, plenty of water, sweet or candies, sun cream, hats, and toilet papers. We have seen that a lot of pilgrims was riding the camel. But my mother dis-agreed to ride. We decided to walk while praying until we reached the top of the mountain. The summit is an excellent place from which to enjoy the spectacular sunset. It was an Amazing and Unforgettable sacrifices but we're very Grateful at the end :-). Some Info: From St. Catherine's Monastery, it is an uphill walk or camel ride to the summit of Mount Sinai. The main route to the summit is known as the Path of Moses and is lined with remains of various chapels. The steeper, more direct route (Path of Moses) is up the 3,750 "steps of penitence" in the ravine behind the monastery. This is the mountain where God spoke to Moses. There is both a mosque and a chapel at the summit of Mount Moses. The Chapel of the Holy Trinity was built in 1934 using the remains of the chapel built by Justinian in the 6th century. Justinian's chapel itself replaced an earlier chapel, built in 363. Clearly visible from the mountain is the village of St. Catherine, located some distance from the Monastery on the El Raha plain. vova-the-best-company

It is very hard and you should be physically fit to go there. Very cold up in the mountain even if it's summer but while waiting for the sunrise it is really amazing! The view from the top is one of a kind and though very exhausted all the way but once you're up there - definitely worth the experience! Being there in one of the historical places of Moses is truly an experience I can be proud of! Book your TOUR-WITH-VOVA-THE-BEST-EVER
